This is a game day favorite that tends to show up at parties, BBQs and by request over and over again. My Crockpot Turkey Taco Dip is always a hit and incredibly easy to make. I’ve seen lots of versions of this dip, but for mine I used quality spices, a little extra heat and serve it with homemade chips and mini-bell peppers cut in half so they act like little scoops! Fun for the whole gang to dig into.
Ingredients
-
1 Lb. Ground turkey
-
2 Tbsps. Shawhan Farms Taco Seasoning
-
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
-
1/2 Small yellow onion, diced
-
1 Tbsp. Serrano pepper, finely minced
-
2 Cloves garlic, finely minced
-
16 Oz. Processed cheese, cut into large cubes
-
14.5 Oz. Can Fire roasted diced tomatoes
-
Cooking spray
For Serving
-
Warmed tortilla chips
-
Mini bell peppers, cut in half and seeded
Directions
In a large skillet sprayed with cooking spray, add ground turkey, one tablespoon of taco seasoning, a large pinch of salt and pepper, serrano pepper and onion. Cook until the meat is browned. Add the garlic and stir into the mix and cook for one minute. Drain any excess oil from the pan.
In a crock pot/slow cooker, add the ground turkey mixture. Top with cubed processed cheese, and fire roasted tomatoes.
Cook in your crock pot/slow cooker, set to 1 hour on low. Stir the mixture in the crock pot/slow cooker occasionally.
Once done, serve warm with warmed tortilla chips, and cut veggies. Keep dip on warm in the slow cooker. Alternatively, pour into small bowls and serve single portion size with chips and mini bell peppers.
