This creamy garlic Parmesan pasta brings together a smooth, savory sauce with tender pasta, sweet peas, and salty prosciutto. The combination creates a balanced dish that feels rich without being heavy.
It’s a quick, reliable option for weeknights when you want something comforting without spending too much time in the kitchen.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated or shaved
- 2 tbsp butter, divided
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp Shawhan Farms Tuscan Black Garlic Parmesan Inspirations seasoning
- 1/2 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
- 1/2 cup half and half or milk
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 1/2 cups bowtie pasta (dry)
- 1 cup frozen peas, thawed
- 3–4 slices prosciutto, chopped
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Directions
- Cook pasta according to package directions, stopping 1–2 minutes early. Reserve some pasta water if needed, then drain.
- In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes.
- Add seasoning and thyme, cooking briefly to bloom the flavors.
- Pour in chicken broth, then slowly add milk while stirring. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Add peas and cook for about 1 minute.
- Add pasta and remaining butter, tossing to coat.
- Gradually stir in Parmesan cheese until smooth. Add prosciutto and mix.
- Let sit briefly to thicken, then garnish with parsley and serve.
Recipe Notes
- Sauce will thicken as it rests.
- Adjust consistency with a splash of pasta water if needed.
- Serve with additional Parmesan if desired.
